A Craving [Sylar]

It was a dark and cloudy night...early morning, yet again! It seemed to just be her luck! Not once had she faced a nice day since her arrival! Which was kind of really lame, Nova was under the assumption that the weather would be nice for her. But no! It was raining sideways one day! Now it looked as if her luck would repeat itself! So, the tanned girl had been up really late unpacking and making her new room comfortable, since she didn't have time on day one...due to an adventure that took her out a little too late! No sleep for the girl it seemed, since she had stayed up all day in order to obtain proper sleep that night. Though, nothing really ever goes according to plan! Which usually leads people into questioning, why bother making plans if they usually don't work out? But anyways! That was all besides the point! The truth was: it was too quite, she was bored, kind of hungry...and whats worse..she had a craving!

You know what happens when you get a craving for something you don't have? You go on a adventure! Which can lead to getting lost once more! Which can take you a while to return! To add to that her legs were a little stiff from the day before, surely she'd not get far fast with sad legs! But it was almost five in the morning, who in their right mind would be out on the street? Not to many people, which meant that Nova would be able to have a peaceful journey to and from the nearest store..After finding it of course! Standing up slowly the girl managed to keep her balance, though the sensation of pins and needles in her legs set in; they had fallen asleep.

"So not cool.." The tanned girl muttered to herself as she grabbed a post from her foot board, attempting to keep herself standing up. It was only a moment or two that passed before Nova decided to make her move. Clad only in her usual clothes, though substituting her usual pair of pants for a black skirt that almost reached her knees and a pair of knee high socks of the pink and black variety. With a pair of black Mary Jane's! Oh the fun it was to wear shoes inside! But yes! With that the girl once more dawned her hat! Followed by arming herself with a cellphone and wallet! Yes, once again, she was ready to face the world. Tip toeing her way out of the apartment, the tanned girl opened up the door and slid through; closing the door quietly behind her! Followed by an epic dash for the elevator!

*stomp stomp stomp*

*wooosshhhhh!!*......*DING*

As the elevator doors opened the black and purple haired girl made a dash for it, leaving the building far behind her, looking from side to side as she passed each street; ever searching for the corner store! Though to her discontent the girl, ran into many closed stores; which didn't really help her quest! Which was so lame. So the girl kept moving, slowly her dash turned into a walk; then the walk remained. Yes, walking was a better idea, far better... Yes, so the girl walked down a street, turned the corner, kept walking! Slowly the hopes of finding a open store seemed to die a little.. But then she found it! Yes! Finally an open store! Just what the girl needed! Now...they better have the needed item!

Wandering around the store, the girl picked up a few things! Some soda in can form...and something else! The magical craving item! Yes, upon finding the box, Nova burst into laughter! Possibly because she was a little odd or maybe she was just over tired! But one thing was for certain1 She probably seemed like a stoner with the munchies! But that was besides the point! She was just hungry and it was calling her name!!

...NOOOOVVVAAAAA.....Nooooooovvvaaaaa!!! eat me!! you know you want too!!!

Giving into the pressure that the bright red box with a leprechaun gave her, Nova picked up the rather large and expensive box of cereal! Would it really be worth the almost ten dollars? Did she really want to eat Cereal at five in the morning? Well of course she did! It was lucky charms! During the journey all nova could think about was chasing that god forsaken leprechaun! As he threw his catch phrase at her!

"They're after me lucky charms”

His voice echoed within her head just as the box of cereal had stopped talking to her. it was quite the evening, but the fact that she really needed sleep became more and more apparent to her. Walking past the magazine section, Nova grabbed a travellers magazine and made her way up to the counter. A can of soda, a box of Lucky Charms, and a magazine! So much fun! The cashier gave the tanned girl an odd look and scanned the items. Paying the guy, Nova made her way out of the store. Yes, outside of the corner store, Nova stood silently with the can in hand.

Yes, so thirsty she was to the point where she'd chug the whole can of soda, not really caring if it would result in a belch.. No one was outside, so what did it matter? Setting her bag down on the ground, Nova looked around before lining up with the trash can standing more then an arms length away from it. Yes, she was going to throw it in. "Tension is rising...The game is nearly at its end! This point will decide if they make it to the finals! All eyes are on Nova as she lines up the shot. The clock counting down the seconds before the game ends.. CAN SHE DO IT?...." With that Nova did two things..One: resist the urge to say: yes she can! Because it would just bring flash back after flashback of sitting around watching bob the builder with her brother! Also... The tanned girl also threw the can! It almost seemed to slow down time as the empty can that once contained orange soda flew through the air! Towards the can..slowly! So slowly! Would she get it in?

*thunk...*

The soda can hit the ground, oh but an inch away from the can. Nova had failed!

"Oh what a world! Nova has failed! The crowd is angry! She cause their favourite team to lose!!.. The crowd is booing her!! BOOOOOOOOO!!" Nova couldn't help but laugh at her silliness, before moving forward to retrieve the can, she bent over and quickly scooped it up."They're after me lucky charms.....I'm so after your lucky charms!" Saying that in a serious voice, was kind of amusing. With that Nova would turn around to see a person. ...great..

Sylar was watching as the girl was having fun? It seemed she may have been out of her mind a little but whatever. He didn’t mind. He had her talking to herself which must mean your crazy right. He walked up to her as she was grabbing the can. She definitely looked good. Oh well. She stood up and he noticed that he was really close to her. A little to close since he had a girlfriend? He really wasn’t sure. So if it was unofficial it means he could flirt. To be on the safe side he wasn’t though. He really liked her so he wasn’t going to ruin it. How about some comic relief.-

“Hola, como estas?”

There was a person there, yes indeedie someone she didn't know. And there she was at five in the morning talking to herself, with a big box of cereal near her feet. What on earth was his first impression of her? It was probably a bad one. She just smiled nervously, trying her best to get rid of the deer in headlights look. Yes but anyways, there was an awkward pause before.

“Hola, como estas?”

A car zoomed by, making splashing noises as it hit each puddle it passed. Repressing the need to yawn Nova looked at the guy, still smiling; all the while attempting to find her voice. Man was she tired, perhaps all nighters were just her thing anymore. Especially since she'd soon need to start waking up early for class, but that was another story. Anyways focusing back on the awkwardness that was now so obvious.

"Uh...Hi." The tanned girl smiled again as she kind of laughed a little.

From within the bag screamed the voice of her cereal box....

......you know you wanna eaatttt meeehhhhhhhh.... commmeeee oonnnnn partake in my lucky charms!...eaaattt meeeee....

Oh god could she ever use a bowl of cereal, the colourful marshmellows!..Hearts, stars, and horseshoes! Clovers and blue moons! Pots of gold and rainbows! and the red balloon!! Nova sung to herself within her head, as she got a little sidetracked and spaced out; such was only to be expected from an extremely tired girl.

"ahoy, How're you this cereal?" Nova was still a little dazed and it took only but a few moments before she realized the stumble in her words.."Errrr....Cereal how're you this evening?" The tanned girl paused once again before looking down at the ground and then back up at the stranger." HI! I'm cereal, how're you this evening?"At that point in time Nova had given up.

Three times the girl tried to introduce herself and every time she seemed to fail miserably. Wow. This would be an eventful day if you asked him. He looked at her in a sort of funny way. A good funny way mind you. He liked her because she was funny. She would be a great friend.

“Well hello cereal, My name is Sylar. Odd yes, different yes, and unique yes. Thank you. So anyways what are you doing out here at this time in the morning.”

He had the right to ask that simple question. It wasn’t to much was it.

Yes, she had just messed up something so simple, her name. But Nova was so tired, it wasn't fun in anyway! But, meeting the stranger was fun. He seemed interesting enough, after all he was nice enough to start talking to a strangely dressed girl..who was talking to herself...in the early morning. Perhaps he thought that she was a stoner? Maybe a drunk? Perhaps he was going to play a practical joke? Or something. The negative thoughts only lingered within her mind for oh but a moment, before she kicked into happy overdrive! Yes, nothing was going to keep her down.

“Well hello cereal, My name is Sylar. Odd yes, different yes, and unique yes. Thank you. So anyways what are you doing out here at this time in the morning.”

"Hi Sylar...I'm Nova! Not cereal!" The tanned girl gave a nervous laugh, "....It's...uh..Nice to meetcha!" There was another pause, Nova had to think of a way to make it like look like she was not a stoner with the munchies. "I...I was getting cereal! What about you?"

“I usually am up at this time. I just never seem to be able to sleep. I have the most annoying neighbors.

It was true. It was the reason he got in so many fights. It was the reason he met Sara. Although that turned out pretty well if you asked him. He never would have thought something as little as that notebook would bring two people so close together. Oh well, back to the current issues. The girl who stole my lucky charms, or his. Why am I even giving a rats behind about who’s they are. I’m just hungry. She seems to be hungry to by the looks of it. Does she want to grab some coffee. I know Sara won’t mind as long as I stay loyal. Plus there was no one I would rather be with anyways.

“You wanna grab some coffee? It’ll help you wake up.”

“I usually am up at this time. I just never seem to be able to sleep. I have the most annoying neighbors."

Nova couldn't help but laugh at that, after all she knew all to well about annoying neighbours! Back home, her family was considered the annoying ones where every they went! Perhaps it was because they were so friendly and happy, trying to get to know people around them..Only to have loud spazzes and police around.. all the time. Yes, she knew all to well what it was like.. Which just made her laugh a little more, though to factor in her lack of sleep, made it even more hilarious. "Annoying neighbours aren't really fun! You should try being a thousand times more annoying! Maybe they'll move away." The girl smiled as she Picked up her bag, there was something about leaving it on the wet ground that was unsettling..

Something about getting a moist box of cereal and having it peel away at the sheer awesomeness that is...The Lucky Charms guy! Yes, she wanted to keep the box in wonderful form... Until it met its demise in the recycling, when ever it was empty that is. But anyways, She smiled at the guy, he seemed nice enough. Perhaps they'd be friends? “You wanna grab some coffee? It’ll help you wake up.”

Nodding Nova replied with a smile on her face,"Sure thing! Coffee sounds wonderful at this point in time!" She paused for a moment, only to yawn.. yes, it was obvious. Nova needed a caffeine boost and fast! Lest she fall asleep on her feet.

"I really have no idea what so ever where I am, so.. uh! You lead the way!" The girl added with a laugh as she looked back at Sylar once more.

Sylar took the lead and started down the block. He would go at a slow enough pace so that she would be able to keep up with him. Sometimes he walked really fast. He would turn to see that she was still following. It was early in the morning but what were they supposed to talk about. He already found out why she was up so early but what was he supposed to say. He decided to see how she was this morning.

“So how are you doing this morning? Besides the fact of being sleepy and hungry.”

And so the two set out on their journey! They sought out the great and wonderful coffee place! yes, one that was open at five in the morning! Oh, what ever wonderful place that actually had doors open at that time... it would be so amazing! Yes, a good cup of coffee would do her some good, sure she wasn't a big coffee drinker; but it would give the needed boost to get her back home... Especially if she managed to get lost on the way back home! Perhaps, duct taping a map o herself would be a good idea, then she'd always have the needed item to return to home! But they walked slow, which she didn't mind at all! After all, it allowed her to not get more so worn out, it also allowed her to gather in as much of the scenery as possible!... Memorize a little bit of the area around the late night corner store! Maybe even remember her way around, a little better!

“So how are you doing this morning? Besides the fact of being sleepy and hungry.”

"You know, the usual! Lost and confused! A little spacey, kind of gitty, and still with the ever lingering feeling that I let that blasted leprechaun get away! I mean, by not sinking that basket, I didn't manage to knock the little guy out! So, he's still out there... taunting me.. He knows the secrets of Lucky Charms! I one day wish to... learn them!! ha ha ha ha..." She looked over at him, trying her best not to burst out into laughter, though such a thing proved to be really hard. The tanned girl couldn't help but wonder if he knew she was joking, he probably did. Come on, what type of person.. wishes to know the ever changing secrets of the mashmellowy cereal...? The more Nova thought about the cereal, the more she wanted it! The louder the voice of that.. Leprechaun bastard got! yes, she was getting a little annoyed... only at the cereal! Yes, why did it have to be so yummy? So, good! So, hypnotic? Why did she want it so badly?

Lack of sleep

Yes, it seemed that she was really tired... After all who would want that cereal so badly? Sure, if it had been any other cereal, she'd understand the lust for it more! Like, Raisin bran! or Reese Puffs! or maybe even honeycomb! Now those were good cereals! Regret settled in, she no longer longed for the red box of cereal! It no longer seemed as delicious as it appeared to be.. Sighing a little, Nova tried to focus.. Yes, focus on what Sylar was saying, it would take her mind of the feelings of loss... Losing out on a good cereal would make anyone sleepy sad.

"What about you? How're you this morning?" The tanned girl questioned, as she finally started to giggle at her own strange words.

Wow this girl was weird. Did she always have these weird things to say when she was sleepy? Hopefully we run into each other again when she isn’t tires. But yet again it is quite entertaining.

“Well this particular morning I’m a little sleepy, happy, and kind of on the ‘oh my god this girl is hysterical’ mood. But other than that I’m doing quite well.”

Sylar noticed that they were outside the coffee shop already. Sylar would politely open the door for the young gil. From their he would walk up to the counter and order an espresso, wait for the girl to order, he would pay for the two of them and take a seat at the nearest table. He would first pull out her chair and push her in though. He was being a gentleman to girls.

“Well this particular morning I’m a little sleepy, happy, and kind of on the ‘oh my god this girl is hysterical’ mood. But other than that I’m doing quite well.”

"Glad to hear you're doin well!"

It took the tanned girl a little while... to 'click' in to what he had said. She couldn't help but chuckle a little at it all. When he offered the door open, she walked in and smiled. It was weird to be around who was so much of a gentleman... It was actually kind of funny! She walked in and looked up at all of the things to order, but had no idea exactly what to get. After a moment or two, she just decided to get a normal coffee. Though, before she got a chance to get her wallet out, Sylar had already paid for it all. Which kind of made her feel a little bad, she'd have to repay him! It was still kind of weird to have her seat pulled out and pushed in for her, it was certainly something she'd never experienced in person!

"Thank-you Sylar!" She looked up any smiled, trying to think of something else to say. Taking a sip of her coffee, the girl tried to hold back a yawn. Come on coffee! Wake me up! Nova chanted within her mind, taking yet another sip of the dark drink of the gods! Her strangeness seemed to stop, just for a while.. She needed to refuel. With that, the tanned girl stared down into her glass, watching the liquid ripple whenever someone walked by.. watching the dark abyss of coffee...

All the while the girl could only hear: They're after me lucky charms!!.. from the bag that sat on the ground by her feet. That damned leprechaun seemed to forever taunt her with cereal.. she just could not have!

Max watched as the girl named nova drank her coffee.

“Your welcome. Anything else you’d like?”

Sylar sat the and looked at the girl intently. Not enough to make her nervous but enough to admire her. She was one of those girls he liked in the same way he liked Sara. (Sara though seemed to have been getting married. Not supposed to know this and ain‘t using it in the thread.) He started to thing about her and forgot about it. He was with Nove now and she was the center of attention. Unless someone else interrupted it.

“Your welcome. Anything else you’d like?"

Nova looked up to see the young man watching her, at that point in time she didn't really think of it in any other way. it wasn't her way. The girl smiled a little at him, she had to think about an answer to said question! After all, perhaps something yummy to eat could be good! Since it was almost breakfast time and all, so food would be good! Recharge her energy, so she'd be able to go on for the rest of the morning. Bringing the cup to her lips again, the girl took a sip of coffee. Taking a deep breath, she enjoyed the smell of coffee.

"Uhm, I'm not sure! I could get it! You don't need to buy! I mean we just met. I don't want you to spend your money on a complete stranger!" She spoke softly at first and then started to babble, feeling really guilty for causing Sylar to offer to spend his money. It was weird to be around someone who offered to pay, she didn't like that aspect, but it was fun to meet someone new!

Looking down at the table, the tanned girl set the cup back down, trying to think of something to say. She was bad around people, so it was hard to start a conversation. Since Nova was socially awkward. "So! do you go to school around here?" It was the best she could come up with.. Even though she didn't even know where 'here' was.

Was this girl for real? Where did he go to school. This was strange. Where else would he go to school for christ sake? Out in Rancho Cucamonga, in the middle of nowhere. No, he went to school here. Sylar was about to yell at her but he remembered it was early and calmed down a little bit. He was still frustrated with her. That wouldn’t be good for he would lose a friend, or soon to be friend. Sylar also noticed that this nice guy act wasn’t working. He was going to be himself.

“Yeah. I go to school out here. It is the only place to go to school right now. What about you? Just visiting or haven’t registered yet, or have you attended and I haven’t noticed you walking around?”

This wasn’t a hard question. It would let Sylar know if he was going to be seeing more of her though.

Nova smiled nervously, bringing the coffee mug once again up to her lips. Oh the sweet dark drink of the gods, how it would wake her up. Perhaps it would make her ask better questions? Or come up with half decent conversation! After all, she asked him where he went to school.. Maybe he'd know she meant.. what school. Taking a few quick sips, the girl set the mug down.

“Yeah. I go to school out here. It is the only place to go to school right now. What about you? Just visiting or haven’t registered yet, or have you attended and I haven’t noticed you walking around?”

Apparently he didn't get it.

"I'm new still, I haven't gone to a class yet." The girl laughed a little, trying to resist the need to twist her rings around. She was getting a little more nervous. her gaze dropped to the table as she fought the urges to run away. After all, it would be a good thing to run away after he paid for the coffee. What do I do? PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE! I can't do that! Just do it! But that's mean! Plus he bought me coffee.. But...but..but..NOTHING... Just do it! I'm not going to do that! Fine... be that way.. sissy I will!..jerk.. As usual, an argument within her head. Always interesting.

Coffee... Drink more coffee! it became the only way she could deal with her nervousness. taking another sip of her coffee, Nova made it seem normal. Just drinking coffee, not using it as a vice to keep herself calm...no one could see through her act; which was good. Setting down the cup again, Nova smiled at Sylar. All the while still trying to think of something to say.
