Nick smirked at the "Body as a Playground" bit. It was a creative way to look at the whole thing, but she was still thinking he was somewhat very promiscuous, which wasn't entirely true. Entirely...
"I think you're misinterpreting me, then. I don't go around sleeping with just anyone. I have my standards, too. And I'm anything but standard; let's get that straight." the smirk never faded.
"Of course, you can try to convince me, if you've got nothing, or nobody, better to do."[/i]
"You seem like you need to be the priority right now." he said jokingly.
"And by convince me, I mean you need to use your big boy words, not your big boy penis."[/i]
Nick laughed out loud, right in the middle of the cafeteria.
"Ha, I see. Don't jump to conclusions that I just want a good fuck. I mean, that's always nice, but that's not what I'm after at this point. This conversation has gotten way to intellectual for me to ram you up against a wall... Not that I was planning on doing that in the first place... But I think something more sophisticated is in order."
Nick cleared his throat and spoke seriously, yet the smirk remained while he spoke.
"You. And me. Go out on a date. No commitment or anything, just to have some fun."

Oh, so he didn't go around just sleeping with anyone, he claims? I was a little sketchy on the statement. Does that means he just roots out the ones he's not attracted to? Nope- too fat. Nope- flat chested. Nope- that's a dude.
However, he was trying to be classy. I imagined he was dating round, which was fine for a guy his age, as long as he was cautious as he tried to prove himself to be. I wasn't necessarily looking for anything exclusive, anyhow. But a date? I don't remember going out on an official date. Sure, Andrew said, "You want to go to such-and-such with me?" yet he had never made it clear that he viewed the outing as a date until he confessed interest in me sometime later.
I didn't want to think about Andrew. He was an asshole. At the same time, though, I had to at least put his feelings into consideration. Wouldn't it be a little cruel of me to go out on a date already, especially when things weren't exactly settled between us? I mean, I had made it clear that I was very angry, but a resolution beyond that was never reached.
"I'll tell you what," I began. "I'll meet up with you outside of school somewhere, since I imagine that was what you had in mind, but as far as we're concerned now, it won't be labeled a date. If you can show that it should be something that two people should do as 'more than friends,' then perhaps I'll go out with you again on what will be called a date. For now, we'll just be two intellectual buddies having fun."

Nick smiled, resting his head again on his propped up hands.
"Alright, love. You've got yourself a deal. How about you call me whenever you're free to do something."
He took out his Garnet Pen, the one he received after fighting Mr. Orange, and grabbed a napkin and wrote down his number in orange ink. He slid the napkin over to her so she would be able to call him whenever she was free, as she had previously stated that she was busy a lot of the time.
"And don't worry about me not being able to go, I'll be able to whenever you call."
Nick then slid the book back over to her.
"You might want to read up, as well." he chuckled.
If she didn't have anything more to say to him, he would get up and leave, the lunch period almost being over and for dramatic effect per say.

Did he think he was slick by writing his number on a napkin and sliding it over? After all, I had a cell phone that I could have entered it into instead. Somebody could have wiped their face with that napkin. Now it's got digits on it.
"Then I'll give you a call this weekend."
Now when was I free? I suppose I could use up some of my swimming time to hang out with Nick. It wouldn't be the end of the world to take a break from the water. But what would we do? And where would we go? My place was a pretty bad idea; he'd be bombarded with cats, dogs, and prepubescent boys. I didn't have much space to claim as my own, much less share with a companion.
Well, I'd think of something. I punched the number into my phone, saved it, and tucked the napkin away in my purse anyway. I hated throwing things out. There wasn't much time left, so I would have to finish reading my book later. I had to get to my locker.
