Eeesh, Reira’s gut instinct was true. There was tension in the air. Well wasn’t that lovely. Nothing like some unspoken emotions to ruin the day. It was all good though, Reira was finished swimming and apparently so was Gabriel. She watched him get out of the pool and bring Olivia down some hallway where Reira could barely see them, let alone hear. It was none of her business either way. Swimming around the pool a little more, Reira got out and wrapped a towel around herself.
I will not eavesdrops. I will not eavesdrop. Oh hell, yes I will!
Following the same path the others had taken, Reira stopped short before she had to turn a corner. She didn’t need to see them to get what was happening. Gabriel’s raised voice was evidence enough. Wow. What a harsh break-up. Hearing enough, Reira left and returned to the pool and sat down on a beach chair.
Poor Olivia. Getting your heart broken by someone you trust hurts. I know all too well…But once she gets over that pain, she’ll become stronger. She’s always going to get hurt if she continues to be as frail and pathetic as she is. The girl needs some backbone…
Wringing her hair out, Reira sat in the sun for a moment longer. She was thinking about leaving, since getting into unnecessary drama was not in her particular liking. She bet that Olivia already made assumption against her. Great, what a fucking lovely day.

Gabriel walked away slowly with a somber face. It was necessary, thats what he told himself. With Olivia out of the way she'd be out of danger. He would do the same with Reira in time. He needed her and her unborn child away from the danger, and Matrim could certainly protect the child but not in his position. There were sacrifices to be taken on both ends. Gabriel would lose his heart and Matrim would lose his ambition. Gabriel lowered his head. Such a cost was too much to be paid for progress.
He walked slowly towards Reira giving her an expression of self destructiveness. He was down, not quite the same man he was moments ago. Cold and bitter due to the coming storm. His mouth opened to speak but stopped short changing his words to fit the moment.
"Now she'll be safe, and soon enough I'll make sure you are as well..." Gabriel's eyes teared up slightly before being batted away, "The farther from me the safer you'll become." Gabriel forced a weak smile.

"Now she'll be safe, and soon enough I'll make sure you are as well...The farther from me the safer you'll become."
She could honestly say she was surprised when she saw Gabriel come towards her, a very sombre look on his face. He was on the verge of tears. Reira felt sorry for him, but at the same time, had no sympathy whatsoever. She knew that he was hurting on the inside and that he let Olivia go for a good purpose, but still, couldn’t he at least tell her the truth? Tell her why…not lie to her and give her a false reason. What was he hiding…?
“A deceitful man begins to believe in his own lies and in the end his lies are the only thing he has…,” Reira said, her cerulean eyes piercing him.
She didn’t know if he was lying or not, but she had seen enough sides of Gabriel to become confused as to who he really was. She had seen the cool, calm, and collected business, the kind hearted boy, and now she saw the broken man. All of these could be him. Still, he was a mystery to her and perhaps that was how he should stay.
Walking towards him, she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“I chose to walk near you, Gabriel. I may not know what you are hiding, but you can’t get rid of me that easily,” she finished, giving him a squeeze. Reira began to walk away, and as she did, she said one last thing.
“We’re friends right? Let’s keep it that way.”
It was a warning. If he screwed her over, he’d be sorry…and at the same time it was a positive note. It showed that she trusted Gabriel. He was her friend and she’d help him out if he asked.
