Such was another day in school and much to Cain's surprise, he had not gotten involved in any fights at all. True, he had not been so active recently, but after spending two years in 552, from which he never had a week where he would have at least five fights, living in the more peaceful San Francisco and the less eventful #42 was a completely different experience. The junior was at the courtyard, relaxing at the baseball court's stands, his head leaned back and propped against the top stand as he seated himself on the seats below that.
The man wore a white dress shirt, buttoned up with the sleeves folded up to his elbow. A pair of dark blue denim jeans made up the rest of his attire, his Nike Overplay IV being his footwear for the day. He had brought his gloves too, but they were in the backpack that lay at his side, waiting for a fight to occur so that it would be used once more.
However, considering how the day had gone, Cain doubted he would be using the gloves today. He smiled at that thought. As boring as this life seemed to be, it was quite a good change from Cain's extreme lifestyle. A holiday, so to say. He chuckled, before making the best of it was he stretched both arms to the side. Though, as he did, he accidentally pushed his bag over the edge of the stand. His eyes widened as he reached out to grab it but missed.
"Oh, shit."
He heard the thud as it landed on the grass below and looked down, only to find that it had landed beside a female who was just walking past. Cain stared at the girl, unsure of what to say. If the girl were to look up, as Cain knew she would, he would simply give an awkward smile and a small wave.
"Umm... Hi? Sorry about that."

The one thing she loved about living in San Francisco was the hot weather. Reira adored living in the sun, which was a very big reason she missed Venice so much. In any case, the brunette was just leaving her classroom. She didn’t know what to think about this school yet, she had been to so many in her lifetime that one never did rub off on her, aside from Point Hope. As of now, Moral Crest was so…so…well boring. Not to mention it was strict and who makes school on the weekends? Sighing, the girl ran her fingers through her dark, brown locks. She was walking towards the courtyard, figuring she should at least check out the place a bit, see if a game was going on or something. Its not like she had anything else to do and she missed being involved in sports, especially soccer. Stretching her arms above her momentarily, she continued to walk, enjoying the warmth of the sun. Today she wore a simple white summer dress, with small black heels. Over her eyes were her favourite aviators and on her ring finger, was her engagement ring. It was an overall casual outfit, Reira wasn’t really out to impress anyone, but for some reason she always seemed to mange it anyway. The girl was coming close to some baseball stands. Of course she wasn’t really paying attention while she walked beside it…that is until something almost fell on her head. Making a small, startled girlish sound, she just managed to jump out of the way. Taking a closer look, it was a bag? Looking up, she saw a very handsome boy staring down at her. “Hello?,” she responded, a little awkwardly. Figuring she ought to be nice, she picked up the bag and walked around the front of the stands. Making her way up, she stood in front of the guy and handed him his bag. “Here you go,” she said with a small smile. “What do you have in here? It’s heavy.” A small laugh escaped her glossed lips.

Cain's eyes widened at this chance meeting. Holy shit, she was hot. Man, this was embarrassing. Had Cain seen her earlier, he wouldn't not have let his luck create a conversation between them, or to be more precise, bad luck. As she picked up the bag, Cain quickly got up. He knew how heavy his bag was, considering he carried it around all the time. The school had yet to issue him with a locker, so he pretty much carried his books around. It mattered to him not anyway. He just thought of it as training.
She did not have to go all the way up to the stands, as the quick-footed Cain made his way down to the first row of seats, simply meeting her there as she offered his bag back to him. He smiled, thanking her as he gently grabbed the back from her hand, placing it on the seat to his side, giving it a small pat to press it down against the seat, making sure that it would not fall again.
“What do you have in here? It’s heavy.”
Cain looked at the girl, giving another awkward smile, unsure of how she would react to the truth. Ah, well, he could not make up of any reasonable lies anyway, so might as well confess. Raising his right hand, he scratched the back of his head as he glanced towards his bag.
"The school has yet to give me a locker, so... Yeah."
He chuckled, looking back at the girl, putting his right hand down. Well, she was certainly beautiful, that was for sure. However, Cain could not kick the feeling that he had seen her before, but where? Cain did not travel much, so he could really list down a few possible places he had seen her before. New York, which was, however, quite big. And Point Hope, where they were isolated. Then again, he had only been in Point Hope for a month and two weeks, so he did not really socialise that well. Speaking of socialising... Cain stuck out his right hand for a handshake.
"Name's Cain, by the way. Cain Alexander."

He met her at the first row of seats, quickly taking his bag from her hands. As this happened she couldn’t help but stare at him from behind her shaded aviators. Odd. She was getting a feeling that she should know this guy from somewhere. She would feel horrible if she did know him and had totally forgot about him. How embarrassing would that be?! Especially from one as good looking as himself. But that was unlikely, Reira wasn’t one to forget easily.
"The school has yet to give me a locker, so... Yeah."
The way he raised his right hand and scratched the back of his head was rather cute and she couldn’t help but laugh. Not a mocking laugh mind you, but an amused one. Stepping around him, she sat down next to him, crossing one leg over the other. She would then take off her aviators and place them on top of her head, revealing her deep, cerulean eyes.
“You should probably get a locker soon,” she said grinning. “This school is crazy with homework and classes…or you can always get a bigger bag.”
She was looking at him now. Once again she found herself admiring him…and as before she felt like she should know him. It was only when he introduced himself that, that feeling was made stronger. Okay, lets think now. Reira had been at 259 for a while…she hadn’t really met anyone there. Then there was Point Hope…and Paragon. Hmm.
Cain..Cain Alexander?
Pondering this for a moment, she quickly shoved the thoughts aside and reverted all her attention back on him. Turning her body slightly, she reached her hand out and placed it in his, then shook.
“Nice to meet you Cain,” she said with that signature smile of hers. “I’m Reira DeMorvick…say…have you been here long? Or did you just move here?”

She chuckled at his excuse, causing the male to feel even more awkward. As expected, she laughed. Cain could only smile in return, unsure of what to say. At that, she stepped past him, entering the stands and sitting down beside his bag. Cain had, after all, yet to sit down. Thinking of it as some sort of offer, Cain could not refuse. He reached forward and removed his bag, placing it on the stands above them as he replaced it, sitting now beside Reira as she removed her aviators, revealing her eyes. Ah, the blue eyes. Cain always found those enchanting. Staring at them was like looking out into the sea. It was calming.
Cain, however, would not stare as he simply glanced forward, his hazel, almost golden, eyes focused on no particular spot at all. He was just trying hard not to be aloof here.
“You should probably get a locker soon, this school is crazy with homework and classes…or you can always get a bigger bag.” "Yeah, I've realised. And nah, I'll just wait for them to finally issue me a locker. Until then, I'm going have to carry this load here."
He turned back towards her with a smirk on his face, his right hand jerking backwards with his thumb pointing out, gesturing towards the bag that sat behind him. And then, he noticed how hard she seemed to be staring at him. He simply looked back, his head tilting slightly in confusion. Was there a pimple on his face?
And she shook his hand, finally. Cain chuckled. Her hand was smooth and soft, and it felt warm in his grip. It was a complete opposite from Cain. Ever since he was 5 years old, his father had been training him into a fighter with training methods as tough, if not tougher, than most military exercises. Not to mention the extra training that his employer, Carlos, had made him go through in order to be a better employee. Of course, no one had to know his occupation.
“I’m Reira DeMorvick…say…have you been here long? Or did you just move here?”
Reira DeMorvick? Isn't that... Wait... Point Hope? Could it be? His eyes widened, unable to believe the coincidental meeting they were having. True, they had never officially met in Point Hope, but rumours of her beauty had reached Cain's sharp ears. He grinned.
"You're from Point Hope, aren't you? No wonder you're so familiar. Haha. I studied there for six weeks, until last week when I moved here in San Francisco. And before Point Hope, I was in 552 in New York."

Reira hardly noticed his head tilt in confusion. She was just so focused on trying to figure out who he was. It irritated her. The poor boy must’ve thought she was scrutinizing him, or something weird like that. It wasn’t until she shook his hand that she realized how weird she must seem. Weird as in stupidish. Woo, way to go Reira! Blushing slightly at her mindlessness, she shook his hand. It was a firm handshake. Her smaller hand fit nicely into his own.
Odd. As soon as she told him her name, his hazels widened and he looked mildly surprised. Okay, so now she was starting to get confused herself. Did he know her? Not really knowing what to say, she kept quiet and allowed him to answer her previous question.
"You're from Point Hope, aren't you? No wonder you're so familiar. Haha. I studied there for six weeks, until last week when I moved here in San Francisco. And before Point Hope, I was in 552 in New York."
Wait, he was from Point Hope?! Small world! Fist Alexis, and now Cain. Mind you, she didn’t mind seeing Cain around these parts, seeing as how she had never really met him before. Alexis was another story. She wished to never see the girl again. Sadly, fate doesn’t always work that way. Anyways, now that she thought about it, she faintly remembered seeing him at Point Hope.
“Whoa! Never saw that one coming! But yeah I am from Point Hope, I studied there until Junior year and then wound up here of all places! Guess I just needed a change…the weather here is definitively a plus,” she finished with a laugh.
Her eyes then moved from him and focused on the now occupied baseball diamond. It looked like a game was about to start. Or a practice, either way, it was something to look at. Not that she needed a distraction to ‘not’ look at him. It was just something she could use to not stare at him constantly. Hey, she couldn’t help it, that was how good looking he was. But soon enough, she was once again making eye contact with him.
“Actually, I would’ve have stayed at Point Hope…I just got the School Captain title and everything…but I decided to come here because of Matrim. You know him?” It was a honest question. She didn’t know how people couldn’t know Matrim, the boy threw his reputation everywhere.

“Whoa! Never saw that one coming! But yeah I am from Point Hope, I studied there until Junior year and then wound up here of all places! Guess I just needed a change…the weather here is definitively a plus,”
Wait, that was weird. Cain moved to Point Hope when he turned junior and studied there for six months, before moving back here when he lost touch and control over his Qi. It had disappeared suddenly, so Carlos no longer saw the point in him staying there. So, he moved him back here, to San Francisco, where he would be safe from the dangers of New York. Truly, Carlos' care for Cain's welfare confused him, but he welcomed it nonetheless. His employer was, after all, taking really good care about him.
"That's weird. I was a junior in Point Hope too. Funny... We never met. Heh. And yeah, the weather here is much better than Alaska's."
Cain chuckled alongside her as he too turned his attention to the baseball pit, which was now getting occupied by who seemed to be the baseball team of Moral Crest High. Baseball. Speaking of sports, Cain had yet to join any co-curricular club here in the school. In 552, he was in the Track & Field team, but thus far, he had not seen any of such teams in 42. He wondered if he could form his own? Maybe not now, but in the future, when he was more socially influential.
“Actually, I would’ve have stayed at Point Hope…I just got the School Captain title and everything…but I decided to come here because of Matrim. You know him?”
Matrim. Cain turned back to Reira. Reira was with Matrim, huh? He smiled a bit, before putting his hand up to his right cheek, where Matrim's left hook had hit him hard at, knocking him out that day. It was just his second day of school too, and Cain was already knocked unconscious by a stronger fighter. Then again, he was the School Captain here, so Cain was not surprised. Still rubbing his chin, he chuckled and replied.
"Kinda hard not to. He packs a big punch."

That was funny that they never met before. In any case, she was glad she met him now. Reira was always up for meeting new people. She was a little bit of a social butterfly. It was natural really. Bringing her hand up to gently place some of her chocolate brown hair behind her ears, Reira continued to scan the ball diamond. Was an opposing team going to show up or what?
"Kinda hard not to. He packs a big punch."
Turning back to Cain, she watched as his hand came up to his cheek. Ouch. Matrim certainly did pack a punch. She almost wanted to grin at just how strong her fiancé was, but she refrained from doing so. She didn’t want to be rude. Instead she gave him an apologetic look.
“Yeah I’ll have to agree with you there. Did his hands catch on fire too?,” she asked, making this cute gesture with her hands. “It’s his new Qi or something…wish I had a Qi…I mean I did, but not anymore.”
As soon as she had left Point Hope her Qi had disappeared, which changed a lot of things. Firstly, her fighting style was thrown way out of line. Secondly, she felt like she was missing something. As weird as that sounded. Having no Qi was nerve wracking, especially since she did have one for so long. But who knows, maybe she’d get a new one? However that worked…if it ever did.
Man I miss my Qi. I wonder if I’ll ever get it back…or if I’ll ever acquire a new one…hmm…

Cain felt no shame of having lost to Matrim, much less getting beat down by the School Captain. In fact, he was glad that someone had beaten him. In 552, the only three people that had really destroyed him in the battlefield were Jay, Seung-ri and Sirus. And after a few months of hard training, Cain was able to be on par with Jay, and defeated the other two. When he had better fighters around him, Cain had more motivation to train harder. And that was just how he liked it. And he had three too, this time round. Gabriel, Travis and of course, Matrim. He was going to try to be on par with them too.
“Yeah I’ll have to agree with you there. Did his hands catch on fire too?,”
Cain looked at Reira for a moment, his eyebrows cocking, before widening. Matrim still had his Qi? Cain had met Alexis a few days before, and it seemed that to Reira, the same thing had happened to all three of them. They had lost their Qi upon leaving Point Hope. However, it seemed, Matrim had not. No wonder he seemed as powerful as ever. If Cain still had his Feline Claws, he would have stood a better chance against Matrim and probably even defeated Gabriel, cutting apart his metal arm.
"You're not the only one who lost his Qi. I lost mine too. That's why I left Point Hope."
Cain looked at his right hand for a moment, still clueless as to what could have happened that caused his Qi to suddenly disappear. He had not overused it, no had he pushed himself in terms of his limit in Qi, so how could he have run out? Was it something his body? Had it been just a moment of development, like puberty? If so, then this sucked. What made Matrim special anyway? And that Mr. Orange too, that shockwave attack of his. How were these people able to maintain their Qi? He sighed, before turning back to Reira.
"Ah, well, let's just hope our Qi, whether it is still in the same form or not, comes back, eh? Anyway, since we're both here now, and since we're going to be classmates, let's try to know each other better, huh?"
Cain chuckled, scratching the back of his head again, quite awkward about asking such. She was becoming an exciting conversation, so Cain did not want this to end just yet.

"You're not the only one who lost his Qi. I lost mine too. That's why I left Point Hope."
Shit. That was unfortunate. Mind boggling as well. A thousand ‘what ifs’ attacked her mind. Was it only the people from Point Hope? Did it happen to others people from different areas? Was it some sort of infectious disease that spread only amongst Qi users and deteriorating their Qi was only the first step…then it got worse?! Reira shook her heads of such thoughts. There was no need to linger on the inevitable. Cain was right. If her Qi came back, that was great, if it didn’t, she’d live.
Matrim was able to get a new Qi. He went from a shield based Qi to a new kick ass flame one. It gave her a relative comfort knowing that. It made her think that maybe Qi changed as a person changed. Or perhaps it was based on the weather and the different scenery, who knew. Reira bit the bottom of her lip, a habit she did when she was in deep thought. Then Cain managed to steal her attention again. He was getting better at that!
“I’d like that,” she said with a smile. “How do you like this place so far? And I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t look like a baseball game is going to take place…want to maybe…um go for a walk?”
Reira got up and dusted her dress off. For some reason she was tired of sitting and needed to move around some.
“Course if you don’t want too, I’m happy to just sit here and talk. Either way it's fine with me!”

Cain watched as she got up from her seat, dusting her dress off, the young junior turning to the baseball pit instead as he took note of her observation. It did not seem like a game was indeed going to take place, though Cain had not intentionally come here to watch a game. This place was simply quite peaceful for him, and there were stands too. For some reason, he felt more at peace when he was here, on these stands, on his own, looking out into blank space.
He stood up too, considering that he was then blocking her way out of the stands. Walking out from the row of seats, he proceeded to grab his bag and place it on his shoulder. With that, he would then turn to her with a soft smile on his face, jerking his head towards the bottom of the stand, indicating for them to go off if she wanted to already. Whether she did or not, Cain would finally answer.
"Yeah, let's go for a walk."
And he would let her lead the way, Cain following behind her, his left hand entering his pocket and his right hand holding onto the bag strap that was slung over his shoulders.
"Anyway, I've only been here for almost three weeks, so I can't really say much, but it's been a fun time while I've been here, I guess. Where do you want to walk to, by the way?"
He'd ask, catching up to her pace so that he walked right beside her, his head tilted and his hazel golden eyes glancing into hers, though not intimately.

There was a moment where she had almost walked into him. It was another embarrassing moment that she had saved herself from…well she would have liked to think she saved herself from it, but it was probably all in her imagination. Faintly brushing against his back, Reira was thankful he had moved to grab his pack, or else she would have really bumped into him. Wow, she felt like a klutz today.
Haha, watch me fall down the stairs….=/
"Yeah, let's go for a walk."
Reira only nodded in contentment, refusing to shout out ‘Yay!’ Which was what she was going to say, but that seemed a little too much to her. Moving around him, she was now in front of him and apparently leading the way. Hmm, where to go? She didn’t think that far ahead, so they would probably end up at some random place she hadn’t been to before. The school was big, she was new, yeah there was a lot of places on campus she hadn’t seen yet. Turning her head to the side she said, “I’ve only been here for about 3 weeks too, maybe a little longer than that. It’s still really, well, hard to get used to. I’d say I’d miss home…but I don’t really have a home now that I think about it…well I have a place to live, but its not home-y.”
She walked for a little while longer. The two of them had passed the baseball diamond and were simply walking through a cluster of trees. (Have no idea what the place looks like XD)
“Err I have no idea where I want to walk to…Sorry, I do this often…just go on random walks to no where in particular. Is there a place you want to go to?” As she talked to him, she failed to notice where she was going and before she knew it, she had almost tripped into a large, round fountain. It was made of stone, with a figure in the middle spewing water out of its mouth. At the base was a large pool of water…it would have sucked to fall into that.
“Oh look…a fountain,” she laughed nervously.

Cain nodded his head. Apparently, they moved into San Francisco at about the same time. There had been too many coincidences between them, that Cain was starting to feel a tad bit awkward about it. In a good way, of course. She did not havfe a home anymore, huh? Cain had been moving around so much that he was not sure where his home was anymore. New York was where he was born, but had lost his sense of belonging there long ago, much thanks to his father. As they passed the diamond, Cain replied softly.
"My father made sure I didn't have a home to go to anymore."
Cain chuckled, turning to her with a smile on his face, showing that he had long gotten over it. She was a pretty good company to have. She was beautiful, friendly and apparently fun to be with too. Too bad she was with Matrim. Cain chuckled again, though would not tell her why.
“Err I have no idea where I want to walk to…Sorry, I do this often…just go on random walks to no where in particular. Is there a place you want to go to?”
Cain turned to her, giving a soft smile and a shrug, before replying, "Eh, let's just see where our fee-" Her body suddenly jerked forward, Cain's eyes catching immediately her landing zone. Into the fountain. How could he not notice that earlier? His hands reached forward, grabbing both of her shoulders as he held her study, though it seemed that she had regained her balance on her own.
“Oh look…a fountain,”
Cain chuckled alongside, before realising that his hands were still on her shoulders. He let go immediately, letting out a soft cough.
"Yeah, and you almost took a bath."
And such would be quite messed up for her, considering what she was wearing.

All she could think about right now was how she was wearing a white dress…and how water + white dress = see through. Eeep, that would be horrible! Hoping she’d be able to catch herself before she fell flat into the fountain, Reira stuck her hands out. However, she didn’t need them, as her feet steadied once again with the help of Cain’s warm hands on her shoulders.
“Thanks for that,” she said with a laugh.
Reira found herself sitting on the edge of the fountain, the sound of her laughter in the air. Hey, if you’re embarrassed the best way to deal with it was to laugh it off, which is exactly what she was doing. It was just hard not to laugh, especially with the notion of her ‘taking a bath’.
“Course if I did fall in there, you’d be naked right now,” she continued with a grin. There was a moment of silence, which she purposely made to allow time for the imagination. “Cause I’d make you give me your shirt to cover myself. Then maybe your pants too, just in case the shirt didn’t cover everything,” she finished with a playful wink.
Ah Reira, she always had to do this didn’t she? She couldn’t help it…she liked to flirt sometimes, even when she wasn’t entitled to by the ring on her finger. Course she didn't purposely try to. It was sorta just natural. It didn't worry her though, Matrim was the only one in her eyes.

“Thanks for that,”
Cain nodded his head, a smile indicating that it was alright. There was no need to thank him. After all, he had not wished to really see anyone in a white dress getting wet that day. He was not that kind of guy. Blame his upbringing, where he was deprived from the outside world until he reached the age of 15. And that was only two years ago. Cain chuckled, before sitting beside her on the fountain. It was quite funny, really. They had not really walked that far, and they were sitting down again. At least, this time, they had an awesome view... Behind them.
“Course if I did fall in there, you’d be naked right now,” "Ah?"
Cain turned towards her, his eyes widening at that grin of hers. What was she thinking of? Why would he get naked? Was she going to take her clothes? Oh, right, yes she would, and leave him with a wet white dress. For a moment, Cain almost pictured himself wearing a white dress, but before the mental image was complete, he was fortunately interrupted as Reira continued, as if reassuring him.
“Cause I’d make you give me your shirt to cover myself. Then maybe your pants too, just in case the shirt didn’t cover everything,”
Cain was about to sigh in relief, but heard the pants comment soon enough. He looked at her, giving an embarrassed smile as he reached up, scratching the back of his head. He was blushing quite a bit at that comment, unsure of what to reply except...
"Umm, hehe... My shirt's white too?"
... That didn't help at all.
