I thought I could get away without being caught up in this mock wedding crap, as if I could be the one to arrange a marriage and not have to participate as a bride myself. Well, it looks like I was wrong.
This wedding served much of the same purpose that Nick and Sam's did, at least initially, from my point of view. But perhaps my impact would be stronger, now that I was the future wife. Eck. I was already somebody's wife, and I didn't like it. I still thought the institution of marriage was dumb. The real reason people get married is financial purposes. If they really just loved each other, why bother getting it legally on paper? Isn't just being in one another's presence enough to satisfy their adoration? It's all bull, if you ask me.
Yet again, though, the pros outweighed the cons in my mind, and so here I was, altering the dress I sewed (which was going to be, for your information, the best damn gown ever made by an amateur seamstress). The hubby was supposed to be here in a few minutes. I didn't know anything about him, including his measurements, so that was the first order of business. After that, we could make preparations for a tacky lovely ceremony.

So Sylar was getting married. He never thought that he would but today was the day. It was all going to go down today and he wasn't quite ready. He wanted to go through with it but in the end he was frightened. It wasn't often he was scared but it was a big commitment.
Sylar had cut his hair for this event. he wanted to look the best he could for his lovely wife, even though he hadn't even meet her. He was wearing a white button up shirt with a nice black pair of slacks. He wasn't going to be wearing this for the wedding but he needed to get measured first. He walked into the room where he was suppoed to meet the girl.
When Sylar walked in he noticed a girl sitting their fixing her dress. He couldn't take his eyes off her. He walked over and took a bow.
"Hello there. My name is Sylar, and i'm guessing your the pretty lady that I will be marrying today?"

I sighed. I probably didn't see this the same way that other students did. Some people got really caught up in these mock marriages. A few were excited, others were horrified, but overall, they managed to create a lot of drama. That's not what I was looking for in this thing. I thought of the wedding as a promotion of my talents and customs, not as a romantic scenario. I hoped this hubby of mine shared the same view. So far we seemed a bit off, but maybe he was just trying to be nice.
"You look very nice," I commented as my eyes glazed over him briefly. "I don't judge by looks, and you shouldn't either, mind you, but psychologically speaking, people have the tendency to trust those who are attractive. That's why pretty people get hired for advertisements." I placed the dress down on the table. I didn't really think that it was bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her dress before the wedding, but hey, it wasn't too hard for me to keep the tradition alive.
"I've got a tux already in the works," I explained to him. "Sylar, was it? Interesting name." Wasn't the villian on Heroes named Sylar? The one who sliced open people's head? That was because of the watch he happened to have, though, right? Hmm. Now what was I getting into by having this wedding? Hahah. I'm joking, even to myself. "I'm Demetra. I'm your bride and your fashion coordinator, apparently." I pulled out the measuring tape. Now THAT was funny. "Where should I measure first?" Don't giggle. Don't giggle. I giggled a little. Damn it. "Let's start with the arms. Hold 'em out, like the letter T."

Sylar did as he was supposed. While listening he started to think that maybe she didn't want to do this. That maybe she hated the idea of a fake wedding. If that was true then why would she go through with it. That was what didn't make sense to him but he would listen anyway. Sylar put his arms out like she wanted and would wait for her to start before saying anything.
"You seem to have strong feelings against this it would seem. Why? Do you not believe in getting married. Is that what is wrong or is it another issue, Or am i reading you all wrong and you love this?"
damn he was talking way to much

At least he was smart. Well, maybe smart wasn't the right word I was looking for. Intelligent seemed to be it. "Oh, no, I want to do this," I reassured him, running the measuring tape across his arms. "I just have different reasons that I want to do this for than most people. You don't have a problem with that, do you?"
Pencil, pencil, pencil. Now where the heck did I put that thing? I rummaged along the table to look for it. Wait, I knew. It was under the dress. I lifted up the skirt and found the writing utensil I was seeking. Hmph. It was a pen. Whatever, I needed something to record his measurements, since I didn't plan on memorizing them all in my head. "The thing is, it's not a real marriage. It's just pretend. You might as well have fun with it and enjoy all the perks, right? I just don't want it to cause a lot of problems when it shouldn't be that way in the first place."

"No problem at all. It was just a question, just like this one." Sylar would take a pause before continuing on. "What if your opinion changes though? Say after all this is done and over with that you actually fell in love and never knew. Then how would you fell towards this wedding?
That was one of those questions that made people really think and Sylar wanted to know most of the girls opinions before they got married. It was just one of those things. He did the same thing to sara when they first meet. She was right in the fact that this wedding was fake but what happens if they do fall in love. Then what do they do?

I chuckled. This one was interesting. I'm not sure why I'm paired up with him (did I mention that already? I feel like I'm repeating myself), but he did keep the event amusing. Perhaps he didn't share the same attitude as me, but it could certainly be worse. He could be only going through with the wedding because of the pressures from his friends or teachers. You know, everyone's doing it, jump on the bandwagon kind of thing. Then he'd be a real pain in the ass. But no, he was rather optimistic and enthusiastic about having a fake wedding with a stranger. Go figure.
"I'm not sure if I believe in love," I commented as I ran the measuring tape down his torso. "At least not the romantic kind. But I've never been in love. However, I imagine that if I did fall in love, I'd realize it. And sure, if I end up falling in love by means of this marriage, I'd try to make a relationship work out. I'm pretty open-minded to the idea."

"As am I. But hypothetically say you were in love yet you didn't know. Not all people do know when they are in love and they lose that person forever. then what would you do? Chase after them or just move on like it was a regular old person? I'm sorry if I am making a big deal out of nothing for you. I was just wondering. I'll shut up now."
Sylar would continue to stand their with his arms like a t and wait for her to finish. That was unless she had something else to say too. Then he would respond

I rolled my eyes. It sounded as if this guy was feeling guilty about carrying on the conversation. "There's no reason you have to stop talking," I let him know. "Even if I don't agree with a single word you say, you still have the right to say it, not just because the first amendment declares freedom of speech and of expression, but because I believe an intelligent debate requires two opposing sides to verbally provide their views."
I knelt onto the ground, stretching the measuring tape as I went. "You can put your arms down. I'm going to do your legs now." It looked like the suit was about the right size. I'd have to make a few minor adjustments, but luckily it wouldn't suck up too much of my time.
"Fortunate enough for you, if you are afraid of disagreement, I'm not against everything you say. I'm pretty sure I'd recognize a change within myself if I did fall in love. If I wasn't able to see that I was in love, then I suppose the person would get away. There's no way I could do anything if I don't realize something different is going on."

"That is a valid point. You do need two sides for a debate. But like you have said, i'm not afraid of disagreement. So we have our disagreements and our agreements. Now that we have furthered that lets switch the topics. Let's get to know each other a little bit more before we do threw with this WEDDING. So what would be your favorite color."
Small talk. Damn, Sylar hated small talk much more than he hated obnoxious girls. Hopefully something she says will bring back a real conversation and not this phony baloney small talk.

Ah, that made sense- well, the getting to know each other part made sense. But really, would he truly know me better just by my favorite color? He asked, though, so I assumed he was interested. "Hm. I don't think I have a favorite color," I responded after a couple moments of silence. "I guess it's never been that important to me to pick a hue that I like. They all have feelings they evoke and symbolism that go along with them, as science and literature has proven several times, but when you get down to it, they're all just fragments of white light, reflecting the shade that they're not able to absorb." Maybe this didn't make much sense to him. He sounded pretty smart, and I liked that, but that didn't make him a book nerd like me. I wasn't even the classy kind of book nerd. I actually sat on my bum and read about science... for fun.
"So, uh, do you have a favorite color, then? Gimme one, and maybe I can tell you what it means." I smirked. Perhaps he was asking about colors because it had something to do with the wedding. After all, ceremonies like these were often decorated in a fashion that kept to a color scheme. Heck, even the bridesmaids dresses usually matched to the color coordination.

Sylar paused before mentioning his color. His favorite color was odd for a guy and he was intimidated to see what she says. Yes, he was finally intimidated but that didn't matter. He would push past it sooner or later.
"My favorite color would be purple. What does that mean?"
That was something he was actually interested in now. He wanted to see what it symbolizes.
(OOC: Do you actually know what the colors mean or...)

[OOC: I know what it means as part of symbolism in books and in plays. You learn a lot from costume design in a drama class. =X]
"Aw, that one's easy!" I replied, giving him a playful slap on the back while leaning over to my paper to record the last of the measurements. "Purple has been historically used by kings and queens, so it often symbolizes royalty, wealth, or nobility. Aside from that, purple can also suggest fantasy, mystery, magic, or wisdom. Thailand uses purple as a color for mourning, like for when a spouse dies, but most other countries don't see it that way."
I pulled out the suit to begin work on it. Might as well start now, right? After all, the ceremony was scheduled for tomorrow, and Sylar would probably want to have it by tonight in order to try it on and see how it looks rather than view it for the first time in the morning. But maybe it was just me who was paranoid like that. "Would you be interested in making our wedding color purple? I don't really have a design in mind for the decorations or anything, since I'll be doing that tomorrow morning, but feel free to run ideas by me."

"Actually that would be really cool if we did that if you like. So now that I know your favorite color what would your favorite type of food be?
Without Demetra knowing Sylar was giving her ideas for the wedding by getting to know her better. So knowing what her favorite food was then we could set up that for our dishes and continue to ask questions to set up for the wedding. The thing was would she catch on. She seemed to be a smart girl so why not. It would make it easier if she came up with questions to but Sylar would do it. He was helping without her knowing.

I chuckled. I really didn't know why he was so curious about these little things. I suppose they were easy questions, ones that lead on to further conversation. Most good interviewers know better than to ask yes or no questions, and so far he was avoiding the aforementioned. "Man, you're giving me such hard ones!"
My brows furred together as I ran my needle and thread through the hem of the dress. "It's sad, but I want to say that I don't have a favorite food, either. And that's not because I like all types of food. I'm actually pretty picky." Boy, if he only knew.
"That's why I made sure to have all the wedding food settled before hand. Decorations aren't as important to me as what's going into everyone's mouths, if that makes any sense." I glanced down back at the dress. I wanted to give a better answer. "I am pretty fond of fruit, though. It's healthy, but it's still sweet, like a desert you don't feel bad for eating. In fact, our 'cake' is going to be made with fruit. It's going to be really cute." I grinned. "But maybe you don't care about how cute the wedding cake is. Anyway, if I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably go with grapes."
