Victor was the same as he, save that he did what Connor considered smart, and avoided the conflict. However, Victor was praising him for standing so strongly behind his convictions. Connor was just being... well, Connor. He didn't know how to not stand by his morals. But, listening to Victor, the more he realized that they were very similar. Connor knew there was a connection here, and it made him relax.
He had been right, too. If they wanted to come after him, wouldn't they have done so by now? Maybe Connor wasn't hated? Well, there was no way of knowing, and that unknowing was what was keeping him hiding and avoiding. But, he was glad to have dodged in here. At least he wasn't alone.
Victor's question was deep, but Connor had an answer. "The side I choose to be on?" He grinned. "The side that puts me with my friends." He was thinking about Sara, and now Victor. "I will not be on a side that will use fear and pain to win. Some how... I think you and I will be on the same team again." He was pleased at the sound of that.
He could imagine actually fighting alongside Victor. And on the 'good guy' team this time. It was an amusing thought. "Oh, and I'll pay you back somehow." His tone gave to his lighthearted side. "Though more than the show, I'm glad I got to chat with you. Honestly, I feel a lot better than I did before I ducked in here."

"I'm glad you think of me as such a good person... I wouldn't be inclined to agree. but thanks" Victor said with a little smile. "truth be told, I don't believe very heavily in good and evil, or right and wrong, I just do with what I think is best for me and my friends... there are some things I don't think are good for anyone *cough* babykilling *cough*... but as a friend of mine I suppose that almost guarentees that next time you and I will be on the same side" Victor explained, there was a little glint in his eye, though he knew connor couldn't see it. the future would be interesting but victor wasn't big on scheming... he certainly wasn't going to begin planning right now. it wasn't the time, now was a time to let things cool down... Victor would know the right moment... or at least he figured he would. he usually did. For right now, it was simply better to enjoy the company of this new friend.
"anyhow... I'm glad you feel better, I like to think I have some kind of soothing effect on people..." he said with a little laugh. "anyhow, you wanna keep jamming? cause I've got nothing to do for the rest of the day, and I really don't feel like going home" he said, it was easy to tell there was no pain in going home just boredom, which victor clearly liked to avoid...
